This summer, we’re focusing on fun for the whole family to enjoy…together! Families should sign up for our summer reading program to take advantage of all the fantastic events and activities we have planned, both in the Library, around town, and even around the county!
Check out our online events calendar for all of the dates for specific events, like our Teddy Bear Picnic, a panel discussion featuring local authors, and our teen’s lawn games afternoon. Click here to access the calendar!
Family Reading Kits
It’s a book club for the whole family! Pick up your Family Reading Kit in July or August and you’ll receive an adult/YA and children’s version of the beloved classic Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World, along with some great conversation starters. Make reading a family affair!
Family Bingo Card
Grab a Bingo card this summer and see how many activities you can get checked off! You can earn achievements by reading, hiking, going for a walk, feeding the Bookie Monster, and more!
Family Scavenger Hunt
We will be organizing a Village-wide scavenger hunt for some family fun! Come pick up the clues to get you started at the Library starting in July. Completion of the hunt will put you in the running for a prize!
Hiking Passport
Take on the Hike-Five Challenge, brought to us by the Columbia Land Conservancy! Pick up a passport at the Library and complete the challenge to win a prize! Visit CLA’s website for more info here.
Bookie Monster
Don’t be scared if you see the Bookie Monster outside our front door this summer. The monster is just there to eat BOOKS! We will keep a running tally of how many pounds of books you all read this summer, so keep ’em coming!
Family Birding Kits
Enter for your chance to win one of six beautiful wooden birdhouses (including materials to decorate them) and a birding guide as prizes for completing either the Bingo Card or Scavenger Hunt listed above!
