As you may have heard, the Kinderhook Memorial Library has committed itself to a sustainable future and has recently established a Sustainability Committee of the Board of Trustees. In partnership with the library staff, our patrons, and the breadth of our community, we are endeavoring to become certified as a “sustainable library”. Critically, KML is securing the longevity and ongoing impact of the library as an integral part of local community life — making it ever more relevant to our diverse and changing constituent’s needs.
There are three spheres that make up the framework for sustainability: environmental soundness, social equity, and financial security.
The library is ready, with your help, to continue progress in each of these areas. Our goals include more outreach into the community, particularly reaching those who may be unable to visit our building regularly; programs addressing the new and diverse needs of our residents; and upgrading our technological offerings to better meet the ever changing demands of our modern world.
These are some of the things we hope to advance with your help. Our sustainability is tied, in part, to the continuing support that we receive from our donors and patrons. Please take this opportunity to make an annual gift as part of this special annual appeal. Donations may be made online via PayPal by clicking on the button below. Checks may also be written to the “Kinderhook Memorial Library” and mailed to PO Box 293, Kinderhook, NY 12106.
We are grateful that you are a proud supporter of your Kinderhook Memorial Library.
