Climate Conversations Kickoff
What changes can we make to address the climate crisis? The issue is on everybody’s mind, but what actions can we take to reverse it? This fall, we’re working with the Village’s Climate Smart Task Force in launching a monthly discussion group at the Library to help our community share thoughts on the climate crisis and ideas for accessible solutions to bring about vital change. Spooky season is approaching! There have been rumblings of a Haunted House this fall, and we need your help to get it off the ground! TAB is open to Grades 7-12, and every meeting gets you an hour of community service. Meetings are twice a month during the school year. Find out more »Hip-hop Freestyle Workshop w/ Salomon Mpondo-Dicka
Starting from the participants’ own techniques, practices, and approaches, Salomon Mpondo-Dicka’s workshop is an introduction to individual freestyle dance. Different aspects of freestyle hip hop will be explored through exercises and short basic choreographic phrases, both solo and in groups. Participants will experiment with how fluidity, dissociation, and slowness break down into several forms to feed a collective vocabulary.
