Halloween Family Festivities

Join us at Rothermel Park for a full afternoon and evening of family fun! At 5pm, families can stop by for our costume party! Enjoy pumpkin painting, a spooky photo booth, and more! Then, pick a spot on the grass for a showing of Pixar's Coco on a 16-foot outdoor movie screen! Starting at 6:15, bring lawn chairs or a blanket, even a picnic dinner if you want! Just be sure to dress warmly--it may get chilly! We'll even have plenty of glow sticks and a snack bar to really set the mood! Family Photo Mini-Sessions with Siobhan Connally

We have a limited number of 15-minute mini-sessions, and each family will receive one digital image from their shoot at no cost. Bat Week in the Kids Room!

This week is all in celebration of bats! And no, it's not just for Halloween. Love 'em or hate 'em, bats play a vital role in our ecology, so lets learn how to be better neighbors to our local bats! We are so grateful to the Village of Kinderhook Climate Smart Task Force for their partnership in bringing the good word of bats to our community. Explore the Night Sky with CLC!

Join us at the library during Bat Week on October 28th at 6 pm for a special program all about the wonder of the night sky! We'll look for constellations, and maybe even see some of the true wonders of the night...BATS! The Columbia Land Conservancy will be showing off the new Nature Explorer Backpacks that will be available at local libraries. This program is appropriate for children ages 6-10 years old.
