Masters of Shape: The Lives and Art of American Women Sculptures

In honor of Women’s History Month we are pleased to welcome author Maria Ausherman to discuss her newest book Masters of Shape: The Lives and Art of American Women Sculptures. In her presentation, Ausherman will discuss some of the artists that inspired this book as well as others, delving into the obstacles that they’ve faced and overcome in their careers. Many of the inspirational figures that will be discussed broke through barriers to have their work taken seriously at a time where race and gender were enormous factors in the success of an artist.
