Mini Renaissance Faire

Here ye! Here ye! Ye Olde Kinderhook Library cordially invites you to our first ever Renaissance Faire! We’ll have miniature ponies abound, face painting, blacksmith demonstrations, crafts, vendors, and more! Activities and demonstrations will occur in the Library’s meeting room and on the opposite side of Sylvester Street.

Whether you stop by for a moment or make a day of it, this is a perfect afternoon for the whole family!

Musical Demonstrations (in the Library meeting room)

2:00pm–Renaissance Duo–Heather Chan and Karlinda Caldicott are professional musicians who met while playing in various orchestral concerts together in the region; they are both currently members of the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra.  Karlinda is a professional harpist and harp teacher, and Heather is a professional violinist who also plays flute, piano and harp.  Heather and Karlinda are very excited to be providing you with Renaissance and early music harp duets today. This program is brought to us by the Music Performance Trust Fund and arranged by the Albany Musicians Association.

4:00pm–Adirondack Baroque Consort—The Adirondack Baroque Consort (known as the ABC) was formed over fifty years ago in 1962 by the late Dr. Maurice C. Whitney, who was Director of Music for the Glens Falls City Schools.  ABC regularly presents programs of medieval to modern music played on instruments such as recorders, krummhorns, viola da gamba, violin, Glastonbury pipe, keyboard and various percussion.
