THANK YOU! \nThe children’s book publishing industry is shrouded in mystique which harms authors every step of the way from finding and agent to post publication book promotion. In this workshop the veil of mystery will be lifted as you learn about the various aspects of the children’s book industry including finding the right agent\, working with publishing houses to partnering with independent book stores and much more! You’ll leave the workshop with answers to your questions as well as practical insights and a deeper understanding of the industry. This class will operate from and equity and justice framework and those with identities that are marginalized are especially encouraged to join! \nStephanie Seales is the California-born daughter of Panamanian immigrants and the author of My Daddy Is a Cowboy (Abrams\, June 2024) and the upcoming Jodie Doesn’t Love Dogs (Candlewick Press\, Spring 2027). My Daddy Is a Cowboy received six starred reviews from Kirkus\, Publishers Weekly\, Booklist\, Bookpage\, School Library Journal\, and The Horn Book. Stephanie is a storyteller\, dreamer\, and doer who’s passionate about racial equity. She’s also a children’s literature expert that has worked in nearly every aspect of the industry (including bookstores\, libraries\, and schools).
