America’s Arsenal of Democracy: How American Industry Won WWII

President Franklin Delano Roosevelt first used the phrase “arsenal of democracy” nearly a year before the US officially entered WWII to refer to the United State’s role in providing weapons, ammunition, and other industrial support for Allied forces overseas. In this presentation, historian Michael Robbins will provide an overview into exactly what that arsenal looked like, and how American industry and production turned the tides by producing two-thirds of all the war material of the Allies in the last four years of the war.
