Hidden Heroes: Extraordinary Stories of Courage from 9/11

In the 25 years since the September 11th attacks, many stories have emerged highlighting the heroism of firefighters and other first responders, as well as ordinary citizens. To commemorate the anniversary of this tragic event, the FASNY Museum of Firefighting’s Assistant Curator, Lauryn Czyzewski, will share the stories of the unsung heroes of 9/11.

The heroism of FDNY firefighters has been greatly highlighted over the years, and rightfully so. In the shadows, however, there exist other 9/11 hero stories that are sometimes overlooked. This presentation details many of these stories, including the story of a New York State volunteer firefighter known as The Man in the Red Bandana.
