For young children, learning to read can be a daunting task. But sometimes, gaining confidence can be as simple as having a willing, non-judgemental, and furry ear to listen! Sign your child up today for the chance to read to certified therapy dog Windy at the library! Windy loves to listen to stories and is ready to snuggle up with an emerging reader to hear a fun tale. Space is limited, but we are hoping to make this an ongoing program! Loading…
Join for us a Snowy Owl edition of our Imagination Station! No registration required, all supplies will be provided.
Put brush to paper and learn the basics of watercolor painting! Local artist Lisa LaMonica will take you step-by-step through the process of producing beautiful works of art–regardless of prior experience. Please register to save your spot on our website or by calling the Library. This workshop is made possible due to a generous grant through The Hover Foundation.
The Community Brainstorming sessions will be postponed to Sunday, February 1st from 2-4 PM due to the impending snowstorm! We're creating our very own Super Stories mural for our children's room and we need YOUR help to make it happen! You can make your permanent mark on the library by dropping in on Sunday, January 25th from 2-4 pm to add your contributions and drawings during our brainstorming session. Part 2 of the mural will be completed on Sunday, February 8th during our community painting session from 12-4 pm.
This winter, the Teen Advisory Board is supporting the Columbia-Greene Humane Society through crafting! Come to the library to make dog and cat toys to be donated to local shelter animals. We will also be collecting other items from CGHS's wishlist at this event; please check their website to see what they need: https://cghs.org/donate/wish-list/

Bitter winds chill the air while the moon shines a cold smile on the ice and snow. Come to the library for a spine-tingling break from the cold with another horror movie night! Local master of horror Bruce Hallenbeck will be presenting two of his favorite midwinter films: The Thing From Another World (1951) and The Abominable Snowman (1957). You’re in for a treat—that is, if you are brave enough to venture out on a dark winter’s night.
Today is the day! Bring your kiddo to the library for a special Family Story Time at 1 pm with craft to celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day! We will have special stickers and bookmarks to hand out as well.
