Grades 5-12 Create your own unique terrarium using air plants! Air plants still need water, but grow without any soil; how you design your terrarium is up to your imagination! Supplies are limited, so please RSVP on our website.

For teens Entering Grades 6-12 In Sept. 2026 Get ready, readers: the annual Battle of the Books competition is fast approaching, and this year we have a whole new program! Students entering Grades 6-12 in September 2026 are invited to join one Kinderhook Library Team for a summer of reading, trivia, snacks, and a variety of book-related activities to prepare for the Mid-Hudson competition in September. Help us make a mini pride parade for the library! For all ages, come down to the library to build a float out of shoe boxes for our very own miniature pride parade. We will have plentiful craft supplies on hand for all the whimsy and rainbows your heart desires.

We will reveal the movie at the event, but see if you can guess what it is with these hints! The movie is based on an award winning graphic novel; the main character is a shapeshifter; the movie fits right into Pride Month; it is rated PG.

If you need a fun and creative way to show your camaraderie with the LGBTQIA+ community, be sure to come to our button making workshop. We’ll have plenty of pre-printed patterns ready to go, or you can get creative and design your own! We’ll be here until 6:00, so feel free to drop in anytime until then.
We are teaming up this year with the Valatie Free Library for a dino-tastic summer of prizes and reading! Join us at Rothermel Park to sign up for summer reading, collect your Summer Reading Dinopoloy board and celebrate the start of summer! Come hungry because we'll have hotdogs, popcorn, and cotton candy available for free! Lawn games, giant bubbles, and crafts will also be available!
