Open the students entering Grades 6-12 in Sept. 2026 Get ready, readers: the annual Battle of the Books competition is fast approaching, and this year we have a whole new program!  Join the Kinderhook Library Team for a summer of reading, trivia, snacks, and a variety of book-related activities to prepare for the Mid-Hudson competition on September 19 at Ulster County Community College.  As one teen put it, Battle of the Books is "competitive book reading."  Intrigued?  Join the team by July 21 to compete in September! Looking to help out the library on your summer break?  This is the time to do it! Every Wednesday morning, we will have jobs ready for any teens who need to build their volunteer resume or who just love the library!  This opportunity is open to all teens as a drop-in event.  Jobs will vary from week to week, but may include prepping children's crafts, helping to set up programs, looking for missing books, and other tasks around the library.
