Kinderhook Memorial Library offers events, resources, and volunteer opportunities for Middle and High School students in the Ichabod Crane School District. Visit the Library to enjoy reading and games in the Teen Room; participate in events such as Smash Bros Tournaments and the Battle of the Books; and help to make our community a better place by becoming a volunteer.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
Have a say in what the Library offers for teens! TAB meets twice per month to discuss event and resource ideas. Members earn one hour of community service for each meeting they attend. Open to students Grades 6-12.

The Library occasionally needs help running events for all ages! These events change each season, and duties differ based on the Library’s needs. To sign up as an Event Assistant, contact Emily at teens@kinderhooklibrary.org; you may be asked to come in for an interview.

Earn community service by reading books! Write a review or curate a book list for the Library’s Teen Reads book blog to help build this readers’ advisory resource for your peers.

create a teen event
Create, plan, and run a teen program hosted by the Library. This independent volunteer project is open to High School students, who will work closely with the Teen Librarian. To learn more, email teens@kinderhooklibrary.org or read about it here.
