The Kinderhook Memorial Library supports and complies with the New York State Civil Practice Laws and Rules section 4509, Library Records. Security Camera Policy

Purpose The Kinderhook Memorial Library employs video security cameras to ensure the physical security of the Library facility, staff, and patrons. The purpose of this policy is to establish the guidelines for the placement and use of video security cameras, as well as the access and retrieval of recorded digital video images at the Library. Public Notice The Library will post signs at each Library entrance alerting users to the presence of security cameras for monitoring and recording on library property, both inside and outside. Fundraising and Gift Policy

The Kinderhook Memorial Library welcomes gifts at the discretion of the Library Director and/or the Board of Trustees. These gifts help enrich and improve public library resources. Gifts and donations may be made to the Library in a number of ways. The Library reserves the right to decline any gift which does not further the mission or goals of the Kinderhook Memorial Library or which would result in the incurrence of excessive expense or administrative support. Record Retention Policy

Approved September 9, 2019 The Document Retention Policy, with language recommended by the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants, identifies the record retention responsibilities of staff, volunteers, and members of the board of trustees for maintaining and documenting the storage and destruction of the Library’s documents and records. The Library is required to honor the following rules from the date of adoption of this policy: A. Programming Policy

The Kinderhook Memorial Library sponsors informative and entertaining talks, demonstrations, audio-visual presentations, workshops, children’s story times and crafts, concerts, and other special events. Library programs are coordinated by Library staff and offered free to the public. Programs are selected by library staff for their relevance to community needs and interests, popular appeal, and suitability for a general audience. Presenters are chosen for their proven expertise and public performance experience. Other factors considered are the availability of staff and meeting rooms.
