100 Days of Ice and Snow: The Winter War (1939-40)

Local historian Michael Robbins will be presenting on the 105-day conflict between Finland and the Soviet Union, highlighting how a vastly outnumbered Finnish force utilized guerrilla tactics to resist the Red Army. This was a short conflict that occurred relatively early on, but the significance and impact were felt throughout the duration of WW2. Michael will take us through the background and events of the conflict and discuss the lasting effects from the signing of the Moscow Peace Treaty.
