Trek Along the Knox Trail

January 8 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Hybrid Event

250 years ago, General Henry Knox led the “Noble Train of Artillery” across parts of New York all the way to Boston. This endeavor helped the Continental Army at a pivotal moment of the Revolution and was considered an impressive, nearly impossible feat.
Author and reporter Gary Leveille will be joining us at the Library to discuss General Knox’s historic feat, the troubles it took, and the impact his actions had on the Revolutionary War. Gary has over 45 years of experience as a writer, editor, author, photographer, publisher and newspaper columnist. He is a columnist for the online Berkshire Edge where he produces the popular “Then and Now” photo history column. An avid local historian and researcher, he is a member of the Great Barrington Historical Commission and serves on the Board of Directors of the Great Barrington Historical Society as well as the Upper Housatonic Valley National Heritage Area. Gary is also a member of the Columbia County Historical Society. Gary and his family spend a lot of time in Columbia County, and reside in nearby Lee, MA.
