Grab some popcorn and drinks–our monthly movie matinees are back! We’re partnering with the Neighbors of Northern Columbia County to bring some classic films to our library for free! In February, we’re commemorating the legacy of Robert Redford with 1973’s Best Picture “The Sting”; then in March, we’re bringing some classic comedy with The Odd Couple (1968) starring Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau!
If you’re interested in learning the art of tarot, you will not want to miss our newest meetup! Our tarot club will provide attendees with the chance to develop a deeper understanding of the individual cards and how to interpret them through hands-on practice. Help us get this new and exciting club off the ground as we learn together.
Adventurers: grab your dice and make a quest to the library for new, monthly Dungeons & Dragons events led by our local Dungeon Master, Dave! These evening sessions will introduce new players to D&D, and give returning players a chance to meet new party members. If you’re interested in more tabletop and RPG gaming, be sure to check out our website for additional events on Sundays and Tuesdays as well!

We are partnering with the Office of the Aging to bring this free program to seniors. Stop by for this energizing exercise, and learn more about the various services provided by the Office of the Aging as well! This series is made possible due to a generous grant through The Ackerman Foundation. This event takes place weekly at the Stuyvesant Town Hall. Please contact us if you need assistance!
This year, we are pleased to be partnering with Square Dance Columbia to bring an exciting series to Kinderhook and the surrounding areas! These welcoming community dances are for all ages and abilities. The dances run on Friday evenings from 7-10 PM, beginning with a learning workshop 20-30 minutes, and will include a break for refreshments. Each dance will be taught and called by an experienced dance caller. Attendees will dance to upbeat music by a live band featuring, fiddle, guitar, banjo, and bass. Local historian Michael Robbins will be presenting on the 105-day conflict between Finland and the Soviet Union, highlighting how a vastly outnumbered Finnish force utilized guerrilla tactics to resist the Red Army. This was a short conflict that occurred relatively early on, but the significance and impact were felt throughout the duration of WW2. Michael will take us through the background and events of the conflict and discuss the lasting effects from the signing of the Moscow Peace Treaty.
