We are so excited to invite musician and educator Jordan Taylor Hill to the Kinderhook Farmer’s Market! In celebration of Juneteenth, Jordan will be leading various workshops on drumming, rhythm, and movement, inspired by the vibrant spirit of West African music. Get some hands on experience with traditional African drums as you explore different styles and rhythms. Participants will also learn to incorporate movement and dance into the performance. We are very excited to be joined for a reading and discussion with author and bookseller Sarah Anderson on Wednesday, June 19th! Sarah will be discussing her newest book "The Lost Art of Silence: Reconnecting to the Power and Beauty of Quiet", a look into how we cope with a world of constant noise and how to enjoy the brief silences that we can find. In her book, Sarah discusses the importance of embracing these small oases of calm, as well as her own relationship with silence and meditation. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
