We are very excited to be joined for a reading and discussion with author and bookseller Sarah Anderson on Wednesday, June 19th! Sarah will be discussing her newest book "The Lost Art of Silence: Reconnecting to the Power and Beauty of Quiet", a look into how we cope with a world of constant noise and how to enjoy the brief silences that we can find. In her book, Sarah discusses the importance of embracing these small oases of calm, as well as her own relationship with silence and meditation. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.

Well-trimmed lawns have been an icon of American suburbia for decades; however, new research has found that the traditional grassy lawn may be detrimental to our environment. Come learn all about lawns--why so many homes have them, and why so many people are seeking other options--and get some pointers on developing your own lush, easily maintained, and native alternative! Avid gardener and educator Wendy Tremper Wollerton will be hosting this presentation, and will have various suggestions for design and plants to use, as well as important resources for further research.
