    Join us for the opening of our new art show on Saturday, March 28 from 2 to 4 pm, Local artists Karen Hummel, Wendy Nooney, and Robin Guthridge will be presenting their works in a friendly, social setting to celebrate this nature-inspired art show! Their gorgeous paintings will be on show throughout the month of April to help us celebrate Earth Day. Pieces will be available for purchase.

  • Film Screening: Bloodlines of the Slave Trade

    Join us for a documentary film screening and Q&A, brought to you by the Neighbors of Northern Columbia County. Bloodlines of the Slave Trade examines the very different stories of two families linked to two notorious, wealthy slave traders of the 1830s, John Armfield and Isaac Franklin. Local resident Susanna Grannis is featured in this film, and has worked to trace back her roots which had previously been largely ignored. She will discuss her experience uncovering this history and meeting a distant relative, Rodney Williams, who is descended from an enslaved woman. Q&A to follow the screening with light refreshments.
