Join a group of like-minded newbie menders and learn how to fix your own textiles at this friendly monthly gathering. You bring what you need to fix and any thread, needles, fabrics that you want to use. Local artist and author Tracey Campbell Pearson will be showing her original children’s book illustrations at the Library this May! In honor of Mother Goose Day, Tracey will have displays in the meeting room showcasing the process of creating a picture book from start to finish, and will have a rotating selection of take-home crafts for kids. Local art historian and author Maria Ausherman is back to present her newest book, "Painters in Paradise: Exploring the Caribbean Islands". With over 50 color reproductions, drawings, and maps, Painters in Paradise celebrates artists who lived in or traveled to the Caribbean in order to depict the dazzling splendors of these tropical islands. Maria will discuss the lives of these fantastic artists, their inspirations, and what drew them to the Caribbean Islands.

Earth Day Scavenger Hunt

You won't want to miss this one! On Saturday, April 27th at 11 am, the library grounds will become a treasure trove of earth day goodies inspired by the book "Only One" illustrated by Chuck Groenink!
