Landscaping with Native Plants

Kinderhook Memorial Library 18 Hudson Street, Kinderhook, NY, United States

When European settlers came to the Hudson Valley, they missed their native cultivars and brought them here to plant in their gardens. By planting natives, we can increase biodiversity and reduce the risks associated with invasive species. In this talk, Master Gardener Frieda Pierce will review the insights provided by Douglas Tallamy, discuss native gardens, design elements, and plants that can be used to restore the ecosystem in your yard.
