Enjoy an early screening of the PBS documentary Free for All: The Public Library, which tells the story of the quiet revolutionaries who made a simple idea happen. From the pioneering women behind the “Free Library Movement” to today's librarians who assist the public despite push backs and budget cuts, meet those who created a civic institution where everything is free and the doors are open to all. Light refreshments will be served.

While many of us know Martin Van Buren as the eighth US president, did you know that he was very nearly the eleventh president as well? Come learn all about Van Buren’s involvement in the 1844 US election from noted history professor Mark Cheathem! Dr. Cheathem is a professor of history at Cumberland University in Tennessee, where he serves as project director for “The Papers of Martin Van Buren,” an archive project documenting Van Buren’s writings.
We will explore a new art medium every week including watercolors, clay, fingerpaints, paper crafts and more! This program has the potential to be messy so please dress little ones in clothes you don't mind getting dirty! Best for toddlers and pre-schoolers!

Stop by the library for an information session with Andy Brooks of Bootstrap Compost! This residential service collects compost from your home, like how recycling pickup works, and returns healthy soil for your garden. The company is aiming to kick off service in Kinderhook upon enrolling 50 households. This presentation is a perfect opportunity to learn about how we can bring this fantastic service to our community soon!
