Let Your Creativity Shine! Beginning on January 12th, stop by the Library to pick up an entry form and get those creative juices flowing. This contest will be split into three age categories: 6-12, 13-17, and 18+. There will be awards for winners and honorable mention in each category, and the winning designs will be printed on bookmarks for our patrons! Make It Happen

Open to High School Students Create, plan, and run an independent teen program hosted by the Library! Volunteersinterested in running a teen event will first need to meet with the teen librarian to discuss theproject (type of event, supplies needed, date, etc.). Keep in mind that not all program ideas willbe appropriate for a library setting and workshopping ideas is encouraged to make any programa success. All events will be open to the public. Mini Renaissance Faire a big success!

On Sunday, October 1, 2023 we hosted our second annual Renaissance Faire. Programs included Axe throwing by The Lazy Axe, a classical lute performance by Andrew Rutherford, birds of prey demonstrations by Whispering Willow Wild Care, tarot readings by Prudence, and sword fight demonstrations from The Wayfinder Experience, as well as face painting, crafts for kids and a costume contest. Del’s Roadside Creamery, Pieconic, and Trixie Starr offered treats for sale. Special thanks to our sponsors Valkin Properties, ReTech Associates and The Friends of the Kinderhook Library.
